Class Newsletter - Home/School Reminders Term 2 Week 6

Notice for Wednesday Week 6 Term 2 2015

Dear Room M Families,
Well Term 2 has taken off with a hiss and a roar. Can’t believe it is Week 6 already!
Winter will soon be upon us and snuggling in the warmth will be our aim! This is a good time for your child to bring slippers to wear during class time if they wish.
A reminder of our class blog, we regularly add your child’s work examples and notices you may need to see.

www.roommlearningblog@blogspot.co.nz

I have recently added a playlist of stories for your child to listen to if they forget their home reading book or need some extra reading. Also there are fabulous links to maths sites that your child can use as extension or extra support homework.
It is a fabulous way your child can share their learning journey with you and  other family members. Feel free to share the web address with family in other towns or countries so they can see what your child has been doing too.

POP Art

This term in Room M our art focus is colour and artist study. We have been producing hot and cold colour art and looking at the artist Andy Warhol. We have looked at POP Art and seen what goes into creating a piece of POP Art.
We have learnt that POP Art...
1. Uses bright happy colours.
2. Uses colours in strange places eg. pink hair and orange skin.
3. Has cartoon like images
4. Uses thick lines to outline.
5. Uses familiar objects in it.

Here is a Youtube clip we watched to learn about POP Art and Andy Warhol.

We produced some spectacular art work based on Andy Warhol's Pop Art
